Benn Northover grew up in Suffolk, on the east coast of England. Since his screen debut in the British crime drama Silent Witness he's proven to be a versatile actor in a string of notable performances. He received The Sunday time critics choice for his performance in the gritty hostage drama Kidnapped Abroad: Hostage to Terror.
He is also an accomplished filmmaker and photographer, his work has been screened in several film festivals and galleries around the world.During the filming of Hostage to Terror in India, Benn got so sick that his body weight decreased rapidly. He later commented in an interview on BBC Radio that although it was a grueling experience he felt focused and forced himself to keep filming, it worked well for his role as someone very ill in captivity.He attended both film and drama school.Benn received The Sunday time critics choice (2008) for his performance in the gritty hostage drama Kidnapped up Abroad: Hostage to Terror, based on the true life events surrounding the kidnapping of Rhys Partridge and Bela Muss in India in 1994.He is also a long time collaborator with legendary filmmaker Jonas Mekas.
